As good as Silence of the Lambs. 5/5 stars, highly recommended.

Criminal by Karin Slaughter

Another great book from Slaughter. 5/5 stars, highly recommended.

A really tense, tough read.  Lots of heavy stuff here.  5/5 stars, highly recommended. 

An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena

It's winter in the Catskills and Mitchell's Inn, nestled deep in the woods, is the perfect setting for a relaxing--maybe even romantic--weekend away. It boasts spacious old rooms with huge woodburning fireplaces, a well-stocked wine cellar, and opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just curling up with a good murder mystery.

So when the weather takes a turn for the worse, and a blizzard cuts off the electricity--and all contact with the outside world--the guests settle in and try to make the best of it.

Soon, though, one of the guests turns up dead--it looks like an accident. But when a second guest dies, they start to panic.

Within the snowed-in paradise, something--or someone--is picking off the guests one by one. And there's nothing they can do but hunker down and hope they can survive the storm--and one another.

A good who-dunnit in the tradition of Agatha Christie. 5/5 stars, highly reommended.

Foundation and Empire by Isaac Asimov

Blue Moon by Lee Child

An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.
 
Reacher has to stay one step ahead of the loan sharks, the thugs, and the assassins. He teams up with a fed-up waitress who knows a little more than she’s letting on, and sets out to take down the powerful and make the greedy pay. It’s a long shot. The odds are against him. But Reacher believes in a certain kind of justice . . . the kind that comes along once in a blue moon.

Typical Jack Reacher outsmarting the world against incredible odds.  Never misses a shot.  So brazen it's fun.  5/5 stars, highly recommended.

Fallen by Karin Slaughter

This is the 2nd Will Trent novel I've read.  It makes me want to read the entire series. 5/5 stars, highly recommended.
